Biography: C Jagannathan

Mr. C Jagannathan was born at Nellore in 1913. In 1932 he took part in the C.D movement and sentenced to one year's imprisonment. After his release he was again convicted for one year in the Madras Conspiracy case. In 1935, he was arrested for distributing seditious literature and sentenced to six months imprisonment. On appeal the sentence was quashed.

His release saw him as the Secretary of the Congress Socialist Party. In consonance with the views of comrade M.N.Roy he resigned the membership of the Party. In 1936 he was elected a member of the A.I.C.C.

He has fused his practical shrewdness with an enthusiasm that burns at white heat. He possesses singularly sound judgement beneath an appearance of nonchalance.
